The Takumi, meaning craftsman, is made from a new type of poly-cotton blend. Hirota has taken the original Pinack for Kumite material but woven super-thin polyester strands, interwoven them tightly with cotton strands to produce an ultra thin yet stiff material designed for fast yet ultra sharp kata performance. Designed for those looking for a "louder" dogi.

This dogi is only available fully tailor-made, so there is no extra cost for alterations or tailoring.

The Hirota Takumi Kata is an unbelievably great gi. The snap is much louder than the Pinack with the play-off being that when wet (sweat) the gi gets even stiffer. Pinack kata is more comfortable when wet but I prefer the Takumi just for the snap. Takumi is also lighter than the Pinack kata. I will purchase a second Takumi shortly - it's that good! Just to add that Kuroobiya were great to deal with. Don't hesitate to ask Hamid for help with sizing and measurements - he's very responsive.
Great dogi. Relatively light for a kata dogi but with great snap. I like it so much that I have ordered another one. Highly recommend this dogi!
