After 20 years of practicing Goju-Ryu I thought it was finally time to get a uniform from Japan and see the quality for myself. I ultimately chose Tokyodo since my teacher in Japan and the other students wear one. The uniform is of very good quality and feels strong and durable. It felt a bit bulky at first but with a few washings it fits nicely now. The time to receive it was reasonable. No matter what anyone might claim, nothing compares to the quality of a dogi made in Japan. Hamid himself is also very friendly and willing to answer any questions in detail.
Fantastic dogi. I already own a Tokyodo AT-1, which I love, but also wanted to try one of their 100% cotton dogi. I've trained a few times in it now and it's comfortable, not too warm for medium weight, and brilliantly made. Another great product by Tokyodo, and excellent service from Hamid as usual. 5 stars.
I bought this dogi for my 10 year old son and was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. I had been looking at the lightweight dogis from other manufacturers and realized the the KW-11 was a medium weight gi for about the same as other companies lightweight offering and sleeve and trouser adjustments were included in the cost. It was hard to see a quality difference between the Hirota I ordered. The KW-11 is an excellent value.
