After previously always purchasing Tokaido dogis, and after extensive discussion with Hamid (sorry Hamid!), I decided to try a Hirota Pinack for Kata dogi.
I was somewhat skeptical about a poly-cotton dogi, but because I have come to trust Hamid's detailed guidance, I decided to purchase the Pinack dogi.
I have to say that this dogi has become my favourite dogi, and after wearing it in a bit, with repeated washings (30 degrees) it has become soft enough, while retaining the 'crispness' that other reviewers have written about.
Its also the first fully tailored dogi I have owned, and fitted perfectly from day one.
Being a fairly old bloke I never thought I would fall in love again...until I encountered high waist dogi trousers! They are so much more comfortable, they stay up and don't cut in to your waist during training; just excellent!
I also think Hamid offers probably the best customer service I have so far encountered, despite all the repetitive questions from me about sizing, shrinkage, etc.
Definitely 5 stars.
